The year 2010 became a historic year for Holy Cross Accordion Band Atticall when they made history at the Fleadh yesterday by winning the Senior Accordion All Ireland title for the first time. This was a result of hard years work and practice and it paid off. They put on an outstanding performance that wowed the judges and allowed them to lift the trophy for the first time in their history by beating off stiff competition from Buncrana Band Donegal.
After the competition they got to parade their silverware around Cavan town and preform to the thousands of spectators who had linned the streets to show their support.
The band will be returning home to Atticall County Down to preform their All Ireland perfomance at Atticall Corner. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the new champions, they will arrive around 7:30pm.
